March 24, 2017As many of you know, on Wednesday, March 22, one of our first graders, Brooklynn, passed away unexpectedly. Counselors from several schools and a therapy dog were present yesterday and today to help students and staff to process this loss. All of us at Mary Endres and District 200 are saddened by this tragedy. Memorial services will be held this Saturday, March 25th at Willow Funeral Home, 1415 W Algonquin Road, Algonquin, IL 60102. 3-6 pm visitation: 6-7 pm memorial service.
April 13, 2017When the 2016-17 District 200 calendar was released, it listed the tentative last day of school as May 25, depending upon use of emergency days. Because the district did use one severe weather day this year, the calendar has been amended to reflect the following:

March 22, 2017On March 22, one of our first graders, Brooklynn, passed away unexpectedly. Brooklynn was a student in Ms. Briscoe’s classroom. She was a friend to many and shared her time at Mary Endres with her 2nd grade brother, Noah and 4th grade sister, Alyssa. All of us at Mary Endres and District 200 are saddened by this tragedy.

January 20, 2017The MEES PTO is hard at work, as always, creating new ways to bring important information to our families. Information and forms regarding every PTO event have now been added to the PTO page of our website. On this page you will find that links are provided for each event, so you can easily access the information you need, quickly.
January 10, 2017Students will be challenged to read (or be read to) 30 minutes EACH day for 12 days! This is an exciting way to get them in the habit of daily reading AND to build their confidence as young readers. Students will record their minutes in their reading log. Students will get sponsors to support their reading. Encourage your students to get some sponsors…they will ALL love to get rewarded with new books! 100% of the pledges they collect is used to get new Usborne books for them, their school, and help field trip costs: 50% to students, 20% to the School Library, 30% to the PTO for fieldtrips! Students will turn everything in to you on January 23 – January 30. Please place in this envelope and send to the office. You do not need to count the minutes or the money. I will take care of everything! ☺ $100 Challenge! Students bringing in $100 or more will receive a FREE box of Activity Cards (many to choose from) PLUS $50 in books. Tuesday, February 7 students will pick out their books to order (times TBA). On Thursday, March 23, students will receive their books and awards! Awards will be given to the student with the highest number of minutes read and most pledges brought in. This will be done by grade level and also by overall school. Grand Prize – Students reading 360+ minutes AND bringing in $10.00 or more in pledges will be eligible for the drawing of a T-Rex Excavation Kit or Shark Excavation Kit (specific kit type is based on availability). All Participants will be eligible to win 1 of 5 Usborne Books. Most Participation – Class that has the most reading minutes gets an ice cream party!
